Biohazardous waste disposal (of which a large percentage is made up of single‐use plastics) is not an environmentally sustainable practice without an innovative solution to the problem. The traditional methods of disposal for these waste types are typically incineration and landfill. Our industry is aided by the benefits of using single-use systems for the manufacturing of drug products; however, we must be ready to provide a solution that will show our commitment to environmental sustainability as we manufacture these lifesaving therapies.
