Strategies for Purification of Bioactive Targets

In this seminar attendees will gain an in depth understanding of the impact of silica gel’s various physical characteristics such as pore volume, surface area, and surface chemistry on purifications. In addition, solvent effects and pH effects will be discussed. With this knowledge in hand a systematic approach for phase selection, method scale up, and optimization will be presented. In the final section we will present strategies for the separation and purification of peptides and proteins. Topics will cover both synthetic peptides as well as products from fermenter reactions. This will include the subject of host cell protein and endotoxin removal.
