Pharma Manufacturing cover story highlights BTEC’s hands-on training

Published November 26, 2019

BTEC and its hands-on approach to training and education are featured in “The Elephant in the Classroom,” the cover story in the November issue of Pharma Manufacturing (www.pharmamanufacturing.com).  The article focuses on the growing need for more effective biopharma workforce training in light of the increasing number of biopharmaceutical drugs and new cell and gene therapies being approved. “It takes companies a lot of time to get workers up to independent performance. Hands-on training is needed to help people to hit the ground running,” John Balchunas is quoted as saying. Balchunas serves at BTEC’s assistant director of professional development programs and as workforce director for the National Institute for Innovation in Manufacturing Biopharmaceuticals (NIIMBL).
