Fall career fair sees 65% increase in attendance
Published Oct. 10, 2025
For the third year in a row, attendance at BTEC’s recent career fair surpassed all previous records. Held Oct. 3 at NC State’s Hunt Library, this fall’s event saw a 65% increase in attendance from fall 2024, which had a record 443 participants. This year, 733 individuals — 463 NC State students and 270 members of the public — participated in the career fair. The semi-annual event, which is co-sponsored by the university's Career Development Center, typically draws large numbers of those interested in job opportunities in biomanufacturing and related life sciences fields, particularly those requiring expertise in science and engineering.
Attendees at this fall’s event were able to meet with representatives from 34 biomanufacturing-related companies from the Research Triangle area and beyond. Participating firms included Amgen, Biogen, bioMerieux, CSL Seqirus, FUJIFILM Biotechnologies, Merck and Pfizer. In addition, the university’s Master of Biomanufacturing and Master of Microbial Biotechnology programs were represented, as was the Southeast Chapter of the Parenteral Drug Association.
Of the 463 NC State students who attended, 115 (25%) are enrolled in BTEC’s undergraduate or graduate programs. Most student participants were undergraduates (83%), with the remainder split between master’s students (11%) and doctoral candidates (6%). More than 35 different majors were represented, with the most common undergraduate majors being biomedical engineering, chemical engineering and biological sciences.
