Cyndell Gracieux-Singleton, Ph.D.

Dr. Cyndell Gracieux-Singleton serves as the Manager of the Analytical Laboratory and Program at BTEC. Her technical expertise spans several analytical techniques such as mass spectrometry (MS), chromatography, and spectroscopy. More specifically, she has experience in MS techniques which include liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI TOF MS). Her background is in protein biochemistry and computational proteomics for advanced protein dynamics and structural characterization.

Dr. Gracieux-Singleton earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her doctorate in Structural and Molecular Biochemistry from North Carolina State University. Her graduate research focused on developing novel mass spectrometry-based assays and data mining tools/platform to elucidate the mechanism of protein aggregation events implicated in neurodegenerative diseases and biotherapeutics.
