BTEC Updates Related to Coronavirus

As part of the university's response to the coronavirus pandemic, the staff of the Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center is working remotely until further notice to help ensure the safety of students, faculty and staff. To reach us, please email or call the appropriate individual or program (see the Email Contacts box on this page), or leave a message on our main phone line at 919-513-2000.

According to a campus update released May 8, NC State is moving forward with a phased reactivation plan for critical operations and activities in adherence with the Governor’s Phase 1 mandate, which took effect that same date. NC State follows all state orders and UNC System guidance, as well as CDC guidelines, to help ensure a safe on-campus environment.

Academic Programs

Per university directives, BTEC classes for summer sessions 1 and 2 will be held online in 2020. Please check NC State's summer sessions website for resources and additional information. Information about fall courses will be posted as it becomes available.

Industry Training

Open-enrollment professional development courses scheduled for May and early June have been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. If you enrolled in a course that has now been canceled, you will be contacted and fees will be refunded.

Decisions about subsequent open-enrollment courses are being made on a rolling basis, so please see the schedule of short courses and check the details for any course in which you are interested. You also may wish to subscribe to our mailing list to receive information about professional development opportunities at BTEC. Note that a self-paced, fully online course, Fundamentals of Biomanufacturing, remains available.

Contract Services

Services provided by BTEC's Bioprocess Services and Analytical Services programs are on hold until further notice. However, we are working remotely and are happy to communicate with all current and potential clients. Please contact us with inquiries, and we can discuss your needs, our capabilities, and how we might collaborate. Currently, we are working remotely with clients to design experiments that can be completed in the near future, when we resume operations. All current and upcoming clients will be notified once additional information about the university's plans to move forward becomes available.
