The BTEC Scholarship program

Students in BTEC's large-scale recovery lab BTEC Scholarship Program logo

The Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC) is a unique, cross-disciplinary center that provides educational and training opportunities to develop skilled professionals for the biomanufacturing industry. The center brings together industry, faculty, and students to enhance biomanufacturing throughout North Carolina and across the country.

BTEC provides academic opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students at NC State. Courses focus on the production of biological products for the treatment or prevention of human disease. BTEC students, whose backgrounds include engineering, the life sciences, and chemistry, gain hands-on experience using industry-standard equipment as part of a comprehensive education in bioprocessing and biomanufacturing. Learn more about BTEC's academic programs, facilities, and expert instructors.

How your gift can help

Your gift can be directed to any of three programs that support BTEC and its students:

  • Graduate fellowships
  • Undergraduate scholarships
  • Unrestricted funds

Fellowships and scholarships are a great way to increase the number and enhance the quality of new professionals entering North Carolina’s biomanufacturing workforce. Unrestricted funds support our greatest needs and help maintain excellence in every aspect of BTEC’s operations. These funds allow BTEC’s executive director to make strategic investments to move the center forward in areas of great promise, including recruiting the most qualified students, faculty, and staff.
