Dr. Arati Prabhakar, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, learned about biomanufacturing education and research when she toured BTEC as part of a recent visit to several research labs at NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill. While at BTEC, Dr. Prabhakar visited its intermediate, large-scale and cell culture labs and dropped in on a laboratory session of Dr. Driss Elhanafi’s Molecular Biology for Biomanufacturing course.

NC State’s Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) coordinated the Feb. 10 NC State visit. In a follow-up statement, ORI confirmed Dr. Prabhakar left NC State very impressed with the work NC State and BTEC are doing.
