Chromatography seminar

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, join Purolite Life Sciences' Fred Ghanem, North American business manager, for a complimentary luncheon program about the firm's novel, agarose-based chromatography resins with uniform particle sizes, for improved purification of proteins and antibodies. The event will take place from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 in room 135 at BTEC, with a one-hour presentation beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Purolite has been developing resins based on polystyrenic and polymethacrylic matrices for over 35 years. Recently, Purolite has invested heavily in a state-of-the-art production plant capable of supplying over a third of global demand for agarose-based resins per year, as well as an additional plant capable of producing uniform, ‘jetted’ agarose resin beads as small as 25 microns. This seminar will focus on the newly developed, jetted agarose-based chromatography platform for life science applications.

Bioprocess workshop

Eppendorf will present a bioprocess workshop at BTEC from 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 that will feature two presentations:

  • Implementation of an Affordable and Scalable Manufacturing Strategy for Gene Therapy, which will present bioprocess solutions for parallel process development at small scale.
  • A Beginner’s Guide to Bioprocess Modes – Batch, Fed-Batch, and Continuous Processing, which will discuss the differences between batch, fed-batch, and continuous fermentation and how these modes influence culture growth.

Eppendorf's integrated portfolio of bioprocess systems, software and consumables will be on hand for demonstration, including the DASbox® Mini Bioreactor System, the BioFlo® 120 and BioFlo® 320 Controllers, as well as its full line of single-use vessels.

Lunch will be provided as part of the workshop. While attendance is free for this workshop, space is limited.
