That vision became a little clearer when the foundation stone of the European Aseptic and Sterile Environment training center (EASE) was laid on December 6, 2014 on the Illkirch Campus of the University of Strasbourg, France. The new infrastructure will be used to provide hands-on training to employees in the health-related, chemical, and food industries. The center will cost $37.5 million to construct and will feature equipment for fermentation, cell culture, downstream processing, aseptic filling, and solid dosage when it opens in spring of 2016.
