BTEC on Tour

The Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC) has been selected by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) to be a tour option for attendees of their education symposium entitled “Biotechnology – Preparing for the Future”. The symposium will take place on August 27-28 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Durham, NC (see the ISPE 2013 Biotechnology Conference website for details). Attendees who visit BTEC on August 28 will see all three scales of bioprocessing laboratories, including the simulated-GMP suite that houses two 300-L bioreactors. Groups will also be treated to a walk-through of the process utility area, which includes skids for production of high purity water, clean steam, and clean compressed air, as well as a skid for treatment of large volumes of genetically modified organisms.
