North Carolina State University’s Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC) and the International Society of Automation (ISA) (opens in new window) have agreed to explore opportunities for collaborations that enhance development and delivery of automation training to NC State University students and biomanufacturing professionals.  BTEC operates simulated-cGMP laboratories with automated equipment that can be used to apply automation concepts.

Founded in 1945, the International Society of Automation is a leading, global, nonprofit organization that is setting the standard for automation by helping over 30,000 worldwide members and other professionals solve difficult technical problems while enhancing their leadership and personal career capabilities. Based in Research Triangle Park, N.C., ISA develops standards; certifies industry professionals; provides education and training; publishes books and technical articles; and hosts conferences and exhibitions for automation professionals.

As part of the collaboration, the strategic partners will focus on opportunities that establish the Research Triangle Park area as the preferred destination for biomanufacturing automation education.
