
Mr. Lucas Vann is a Lecturer in the Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center at North Carolina State University. He has extensive experience in the areas of fermentation, process development and biosensors.
He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Bioprocessing at North Carolina State University where he is conducting research in the areas of process development and automation engineering. He has over 7 years experience designing and teaching courses at the college level in the field of fermentation processes related to the Biotechnology industry.
He owns his own management consulting company that he started 5 years ago and has 6 years experience as a facility manager in Montreal, Canada. He holds an engineering degree in Biosystems Engineering from McGill University. He also has a Masters degree from McGill University in which he has 2 patents pending from his biosensor design for fermentation process optimization.
Lucas has taught BBS/BEC 426 -- Industrial Microbiology & Bioprocessing, BEC 480-Large Scale Fermentation, and BIT 463/563 -- Fermentation of Recombinant Organisms and has designed BTEC's Fermentation Engineering 3-day professional development course. 3: Fermentation of Recombinant Organisms.
