Both North Carolina State University and the North Carolina Community College System share space and educate students in the Golden LEAF BTEC facility. The following NC State University programs may be of interest to students considering a career in biomanufacturing, as some of them offer concentrations specific to the field:

Bioprocessing Science (BBS)

http://www.ncsu.edu/foodscience/bioprocessing/ The Bioprocessing Science program (BBS), within the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences, is the first undergraduate program at NC State created to utilize the Golden LEAF BTEC facilities, with the first freshman class enrolled in Fall 2006. Graduates from the BBS program will have the technical competence and hands-on experience to immediately contribute to the North Carolina biomanufacturing and pharmaceutical industries. In addition to a strong technical background, students earning a B.S. in Bioprocessing Science will understand other subject matter relevant to the bio-industries, including quality control and assurance, validation procedures, as well as ethical and regulatory issues. This unique collection of courses is designed to provide bioprocessing students with a special skill set specific to bioprocessing and pharmaceutical manufacturing needs, which to-date have not been taught by U.S. universities. NCSU Biotechnology Program

These faculty and staff hail from twenty-four departments in the five colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Engineering, Natural Resources, Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine.

Master's Degree in Microbial Biotechnology (MMB)

http://microbiology.ncsu.edu/graduate/MMB/index.htm The Professional Science Master's degree in Microbial Biotechnology (MMB) at North Carolina State University was launched by the Department of Microbiology in August 2003. The two-year program provides students with competencies in science and business and includes both academic and professional training.

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
