The Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise (BRITE) was created to provide students with hands-on experiences in critical areas of biomanufacturing, with an emphasis on offering in-depth personal instruction in research and training lab modules.
Students in BRITE will conduct research with a faculty mentor, participating in a broad range of research areas rooted in microbiology, biology, chemistry and computational sciences.
As part of this mission, the initiative is focused on aligning existing and developing programs throughout North Carolina to deliver this type of education to students across the state. BRITE is headquartered at North Carolina Central University, in Durham.
